Marriage/Relationship Compatibility Test ENTJ!

The personality type information discovered from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) can be used, in a manner of speaking as a wonderful compatibility test of sorts.

The Myers-Briggs instrument itself is NOT a compatibility test. It is a personality preference indicator.

The information gleaned from knowledge of your personality type can be used to identify and actually create better love and relationship compatibility so I have used the term "compatibility test" to refer to using the "type" information in this fashion.Compatibility is critical to relationship success as each of the 16 personality types will bring instinctively preferred behaviors, personality traits, to a marriage and/or family relationship.

If you know ahead of time what those preferred personality traits are you have the knowledge necessary to make a marriage last and flourish; actually, you have the type knowledge to make any relationship grow.

Myers-Briggs “Compatibility Test” Results-ENTJ Personality Traits

• The ENTJ will likely and naturally have the “power” in the relationship
• The ENTJ will despise, loathe, certainly dislike inefficiency in mate and children
• The ENTJ is likely to be much more commanding, firm, authoritative in relationship

On the Personality & Marriage section of this site the statement was made that all relationships will encounter conflict. It is part of being human. How we experience conflict, react to it and move to solve it are instinctive. So we have some power and control and will INSTINCTIVELY and NATURALLY use our personality traits in a conflict resolution activity, at least some of the time. The following personality traits are keys to understanding the ENTJ approach to conflict in relationships/marriage.

• ENTJ is very likely to not take the conflict personally
• ENTJ will view the conflict as a “problem” almost academically to be solved
• ENTJ will usually take the most logical-often systems approach to finding the solution

• ENFJ likely see conflict resolution activity as a door to improvement

• ENTJ will naturally consider a non-people centered solution first
• ENTJ will analyze the problem objectively at first
• ENTJ will naturally factor pros and cons
• ENTJ will typically chose the logical solution that can be applied to many situations
• ENTJ will focus on the most strategic solution
• The ENTJ will work to identify all sides of a solution
• ENTJ will seek creative solutions

ENTJ Likely Positive Solutions Will Be

• Agreeable, friendly, cordial, harmonious
• Fair, just, reasonable, rational
• Well organized, competent, capable
• Perceptive, shrewd, discerning, insightful
• Arrived at through consensus

ENTJ Conflict Resolution Activity-Improvement Opportunities (weaknesses)

• ENTJ will typically minimize the importance of personal feelings, their own and those of others
• ENTJ will see debate as objective problem solving and not easily understand how others do not, especially if others are hurt by the arguing and debate
• ENTJ may not see or seek all the possible facts and details
• ENTJ may overlook, disregard, write off solutions that seem to people-oriented
• ENTJs are likely to misunderstand why intense communication can intimidate others
• ENTJ are prone to control the process
• ENTJ may struggle if they cannot discuss things impacting the big picture
• ENTJs will have difficulty with those unwilling to try something new and different
• ENTJs may see the need to be “right” as more important than the need for consensus
• ENTJ may decide too quickly
• ENTJ may create a conflict by trying to fix the things others just want them to listen to
• ENTJ may lose patients with those wanting a indirect approach to conflict resolution

If you have taken the Myers Briggs test and are ENTJ understand that others are not and that others may not share your natural personality traits and perhaps need you to give them more of who they are by modifying your “instinctive” behaviors from time to time in favor of their personality traits and instinctive behaviors. Likewise, from time to time they should modify theirs in favor of yours. The main idea behind knowledge of personality traits that are different is that it is natural and these differences need to be validated, valued and acknowledged. When this happens people simply get along better on many levels and that is priceless. Just allow the other person to be who they are!!
