Words to Describe Personality on the Ordering Level

Judging and Perceiving describe how you deal with the outside world. How do you prefer to allow events in your day to occur? How do you like to get things done?

Judgers more naturally prefer a planned and organized approach to life and prefer to have things settled. Perceivers usually like flexible and spontaneous approaches to life and more naturally prefer to keep their options open.

Judgers prefer a structured, ordered and fairly predictable environment, where they can make decisions and have things finished, they focus on closure. Perceivers prefer to experience as much of life as possible so they like to keep open and flexible and are natural adaptors.

Judgers tend to be more organized and productive.

Consider the following list of personality traits NATURALLY associated with Judgers:

  • using thinking or feeling decision making outwardly
  • more formal and conventional
  • more serious
  • like to take charge be in control
  • make decisions quickly
  • definitive and often express strong opinions
  • dislike surprises want advance warning
  • settled organized
  • often in a hurry like a rapid pace
  • dress more for appearance
  • like to set and reach goals
  • driven to finish projects
  • like (indeed need) rules, systems, structures
  • goal oriented

Perceivers tend to be more flexible, curious and nonconforming. Consider the following list of personality traits NATURALLY associated with Perceiving:

  • using sensing or intuitive perception outwardly
  • more casual and unconventional
  • more playful
  • good at adapting
  • kings and queens of procrastination, put off decisions
  • always waiting to see what is going to happen next
  • enjoy surprises and like adapting to last minute changes
  • prefer a leisurely pace to things
  • often have an unfinished look, dress more for comfort
  • liable to change goals
  • prefer to begin things
  • find rules, systems, structure confining and limiting
  • often disorganized
  • walk slower
  • seek jobs that are fun
  • open-minded, very less comfortable with rules
