I Wish Everyone Could Understand!

I sometimes wish I could scream it from the top of the highest mountain so that everyone could understand the power of knowing their personality and how to USE IT! I've just had another example, not a pleasant one actually, but one that could not surprise anyone who understands personality at its simplest form. Two people, different in dominant function, reacting in ways that anger each one but are very predicable simply because they are opposite in dominant function! They could have seen it coming!! Sometimes these things happen so quickly though that it does not matter what we know, two people in any relationship will get angry from time to time....I just wish we could all understand and use our personality knowledge to moderate certain situations. I really get frustrated some times, I really do.

Why Do Things Keep Changing?!

Talked with a lady yesterday whose job subjects her to frequent schedule change. She is a "J" for Judging, and in her case the changes are becoming very unsettling. We talked and she saw the difference between the Judger and the Perceiver and understood why she is being stressed. Judgers just don't want things changed rapidly and without warner...if things have to change at all!! This understanding will help but still won't necessarily reduce the stress she feels, but at least she has a better idea because of her knowledge of personality type of how to handle the situation....she may actually change jobs due to this. Could be a good thing.

Too Many People!!

"Just too many people!!!"...these are the words spoken to me just recently from a close Introverted friend of mine who is an Esthetician (skin care specialist...facials, waxes, etc.)in her first job and is seeing clients every hour. She is great technically, physically at what she does but the volume of people she is serving is stressing her to the max. The key to her was in understanding that the conflict for her was the extraverted and introverted reality....she is not dumb...was/is doing nothing wrong...she may have to bolster herself to better handle all those customers! This understanding has helped her alot.

Another Mis-Match!

I just finished a session with another client who is struggling with work dissatisfaction. She is INFP and is working as a special scheduler for a medical practice at a local university hospital for a nationaly known surgeon. Her entire day is people, people, people, details, details and more details....she is working in her "inferior" function area and her opposite energy environment too much...at least for her. We will work on a more "INFP" fit. It just amazes me how many times I see this...job mis-match is pandemic!!
