Time Management INFP is "In Process" and Conceptual!

Time management for the INFP will involve a process approach to making veryconceptual things more clear.

The INFP is always seeking newness in things, people, projects and process so they canbe open to a variety of time management issues.

Method

Time management INFP will always tend to consider involving others in a harmonious manner. The INFP is usually very sensitive to the feelings of others and how others may approachmanaging time.

The INFP tends to want others to feel as if they belong and that everyone is pulling together.

The INFP has a tendency to work in fits and spurts of activity that can impact how theyview time. Essentially their view of time is open-ended and related to how others feelabout projects and what needs to be done.

Tools and Traps

Because they are "Perceivers" and given their strong orientation to "Intuition" the INFP isusually not given to a tight structured approach to most things; time management included.

Conceptually their world should unfold in a natural and harmonious manner thus giving a low priorityto organizing time.

However the INFP will list and set priorities often putting too much on the plate as they allowtheir powerful intuition to run free. They are naturals at "going with the flow" and changing'priorities at the last minute if need be so formal planning can take a back seat at times.

The intuit, which the INFP is, will also tend at times to "mentally" plan their time, their day in sucha way that writing things down can become a problem....and a necessity at the same time!

They will embrace more standard time management tools as the situation changes to make those toolsmore useful; but typically their is no standard tool preferred by the INFP.

They will frequently get trapped in time management by taking on too much as they have a naturaldifficulty in saying no if that will make someone feel bad. (Which is to say if they perceive that it will.)Because the INFP frequently sets standards almost impossible to meet, they can spend too much time tryingto be perfect and not get much accomplished.

The major time trap for the INFP is becoming attracted to something new before they complete what theybegan before.....which was new at some point in the past. They are not alone here in the type world; but, the INFP is great at beginnings, not so good at completing.

They can get back on track by taking quiet time, which they love, alone to themselves and reviewwhat needs to be done. Then they can create a "structure" for moving ahead.

Also if they can be helped to see the "rewards" awaiting them when they plan and complete things, they canget righted and move forward with managing their time.
