ISTJ Decision Making UsesThe Strong Sensor Realist!
ISTJ Decision Making Z Method
The Introverted with Sensing, Thinking and Judging "Z" method of decision making will rely upon the Dominant Sensing function.
Gather all the facts as you begin to make a decision is where the ISTJ will shine!
A reliance upon fact identification is your natural decision
making model.
So as you see the "Z" diagram the ISTJ's strongest ability is used up front as they go over the problem.

The "S" Dominant sensor that you are is cliniclly stronger when it
comes to taking in "realistic", "detailed" and very "practical" details.
Exactly the kind of behaviour needed for problem solving fact-finding.
Trust your fact finding ability, make it even stronger. This is, again, your strongest decision making step.
Now, don't take this personally, you are "inferior" in Intuiton (well at least
clinically anyway) so trying to identify the "concepts" flowing from detailed
fact finding will be your weakest area. So, perhaps someone else should do that
if possible.
Logical decison making, the "T", part of this is your second strongest
psychological function. You are good at it, finding which logical solutions to
consider will be easy for you.
Lastly, seeing how everyone will "feel" about these solutions is you third
or tiertiary function. Your ability at this, clinically, is weaker here, not as week
as intuition, but someone else should advise on how stakeholders will "feel" about
the solutions.
Don't misunderstand, in order to use this, remember you do have "Intuition" and "Feeling" they are just your weakest abilities when it comes to decision making.
Following the "Z" method is functional, powerful, accurate and liberating at the same time! Plus you grow to appreciate the strengths others may bring to your decision making life.
